• add a reusable authenticated checkout action for Forgejo workflows
• support explicit authenticated repository checkout and default same-repository checkout semantics
• cover the action with a real child-Forgejo integration workflow
• keep parent workflow ownership of the shared Docker network
• fail hard on orchestration errors instead of producing false-green runs
• reduce success-path orchestration noise while keeping live child runner output and failure diagnostics useful
• pin workflow container images explicitly

Why

Caller jobs need a reusable checkout action that works in Forgejo without ctions/checkout, including in child-Forgejo integration scenarios with isolated containerized execution.

Verification

• integration-checkout is green in Forgejo Actions
• local WSL check.sh passes with actionlint, shellcheck, shfmt, taplo, typos, yamllint, markdownlint, and reuse installed
• child workflow successfully cloned the action repository and validated checked-out fixture contents and SHA
